One of the many talents Adan possessed was working with his hands, as he helped anyone who needed it. With this talent he worked for several auto dealerships doing auto body and paint work here in Selma.

He first served in the military with the Texas Army National Guard at the age of 17, until moving to California. He was drafted into the army in 1960 - 1963. He then joined the Air National Guard in 1975 until he honorably retired in 1993 with the rank of Master Sergeant.
Adan was an active member of the Parlier and Selma Mennonite Brethren Church where he served faithfully.
Adan is survived by four married children: Johnny and his wife, Alicia. Ernie and his wife Becky, Jessica and her husband Romulo Jr, and Roberto Jr. and his wife Melissa. He also is survived by 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his children, he is survived by his brother Lionel Gonzalez, his sisters Eva Garza, Maria del Socorro Rodriguez, and Dora Resendez.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Anabel Gonzalez, Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez, his brothers Cain Gonzalez, Marcos Gonzalez Jr. and his grandson James Rodriguez.
Adan was described as being a great storyteller, joker, social with everyone and a loving man of incredible faith.
Adan will be laid to rest on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 with graveside services at Floral Memorial Park at 10:00 AM. A reception in memory of Adan will take place immediately following the burial at the Selma Portuguese Hall. We invite all who knew and loved Adan to join us in honoring his memory.
