Adele M.
Hopper
Sep 28, 1943 — Mar 14, 2025
Fresno
Adele Martha Hopper went to be with her beloved Jesus on March 14, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and encouragement. Born on September 28, 1943, in New Jersey to Barbara and John Pinter, Adele's journey of faith began early. At just five years old, her family moved to California, where she was lovingly shaped by the Sunday school teachers of the Los Angeles and Hollywood churches her parents attended. It
was through their guidance that she came to know and love Christ, a devotion that would define her life.
At 17, Adele met the love of her life, Ken, through the Youth for Christ program at John Marshall High School. Though he was a leader and she a student, Ken made his interest in her known—most memorably by playfully smooshing a banana into her hair at a weekend YFC camp. That moment marked the beginning of a beautiful love story, and on October 6, 1961, they were married.
Together, they built a family, raising their three children: Jeff, John, and Kendra. Adele championed her children's dreams, encouraging them in all their endeavors. But her heart extended far beyond her home. Adele's greatest joy was pouring into the lives of young mothers at her church, offering them encouragement, wisdom, and unwavering support. Whether through heartfelt notes in her incomparable handwriting, thoughtful visits, shared meals, or deep conversations over coffee, she lived out her faith in tangible ways. Adele's passion for sharing the gospel never wavered.
Adele is survived by her devoted husband, Ken; her son John (Ann) Hopper; her daughter Kendra (Andrew) Fletcher; and her daughter-in-law Laura Hopper. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Jeff (Laura). Her legacy lives on through her 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, who will forever remember how much she loved them each.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Adele's life and faith at 11am on April 11, 2025 at The Well Community Church, 4545 N Palm Ave, Fresno, CA, 93704.
The service will be live streamed and can be viewed at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83402399421 (Passcode: 435899).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Well Community Church (4545 N Palm Ave, Fresno, CA 93704) The Evangel Home (137 N. Yosemite Ave., Fresno, CA 93701), or Fresno Mission (P.O. Box 1422, Fresno, CA 93716) in honor of Adele's lifelong dedication to ministering to others.
