Alice  Lucia  Berry,  a  long-time  resident  of  Fresno,  passed  away  in  France  on  September  27,  2023.  Alice was  doing  what  she  loved,  traveling  the  world,  until  the  very  end.  She  was  90  years  old.

Alice  was  born  on  July  16,  1933  in  Alexandria,  Egypt.  She  immigrated  to  the  United  States  in  1953, bravely  traveling  alone  across  the  world  to  make  a  life  for  herself  in  the  United  States.  Alice  attended UCSF  where  she  met  the  love  of  her  life  Dennis  Berry.  They  were  married  for  47  years  and  had  two children,  Christy  and  Cliff.

She  obtained  an  undergraduate  degree  in  Psychology  from  UCSF  and  later  a  Master's  Degree.  She  was also  a  licensed  Family  Therapist,  allowing  her  to  help  many  people  in  her  lifetime.  During  her  career  she was  a  School  Psychologist  for  the  Sanger  Unified  School  District,  she  counseled  youth  at  Fresno  County Juvenile  Hall,  taught  at  Fresno  City  College,  Fresno  State  University  and  Fresno  Pacific  University  and  had her  own  private  practice.

Alice's  love  language  was  food  and  gifts.  Alice  and  Dennis  traveled  extensively  once  he  retired  in  1997, visiting  Europe,  Africa,  and  Mexico.  After  Dennis'  death  in  2009,  she  continued  traveling  the  world, visiting  over  100  countries  in  her  lifetime. Alice  lived  a  life  to  admire  and  gave  her  family  and  friends  a  lifetime  of  memories  to  treasure.  While  we mourn  her  passing,  the  family  is  comforted  knowing  Alice,  the  matriarch  of  our  family,  left  an  abundant legacy  of  fearlessness,  joy  and  love.

Alice  was  a  vibrant  and  colorful  character.  She  would  want  that  essence,  in  addition  to  laughter, continued  into  her  celebration  of  life.  Please  honor  Alice  by  dressing  appropriately  in  colorful  and  vibrant attire.

Alice  is  survived  by  her  daughter  Christy  Parrish  (Ray)  of  San  Clemente,  California,  son  Cliff  Berry (Andrea)  of  Rocklin,  California,  sister  Therese  O'Connor  (Walter  O'Connor  and  Richard  DiGiovanni)  of Sunnyvale,  California,  niece  Tanya  Russell  (Mike  Virden)  of  Hanford,  California,  sister-in-law  Anne  Berry  of Oakland,  California,  brother  in-law  John  Berry  (Barbara)  of  Los  Gatos,  California  and  her  grandchildren: Blane,  Taylor,  Paige,  Walter  (Karina),  Lucas  and  Sam.
