Alice Hardy, a much loved wife, stepmom, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025 at the age of 91, following a battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born on March 23, 1934 in Litchfield, Illinois, Alice lived a life of hard work and dedication to her family and friends.

Following her graduation from high school in Miami, Florida, Alice enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. She served her country for 3 years as part of the 575th Field Maintenance Squadron. Before her honorable discharge, she earned the National Defense Service Medal.

Alice and a friend drove across the country from Miami to Los Angeles, California where she settled and began to work in the automobile industry as a bookkeeper, an occupation she held for over 40 years. It was at work that Alice met many of her life long friends, and together they solved many auto dealerships' accounting nightmares.

In the early 1970's, Alice met the love of her live, our dad Jay Hardy. They married on October 20, 1973, and Alice became an instant stepmom to 3 teenagers. A daunting task at best, Alice accepted the challenge with a smile of her face, and became a friend to each of us.

In 1976, she and Dad moved to Fresno, California where they have lived for nearly 50 years. That same year, all three of us teenagers came to live with them. Together, they completed the job of raising us.

Dad truly was the love of her life. They were married over 50 years and were devoted to one another. Even when she could no longer call Dad by name, we knew how much she loved him. When Dad died earlier this year, Alice deeply missed him.

A love second only to her love for Dad, was Alice's passion for the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball team, a love she has passed on to her children and grandchildren. Alice was happiest sitting in Dodger Stadium, enjoying a "Dodger Dog" and cheering on her "boys" or listening to the radio or TV while Vin Scully called the game.

Alice is survived by her 3 stepchildren: Malinka (Curt); Beth (Frank, deceased); and Rick. She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren: Eddie; Cameron; Blake (Stephanie); Steven; and Jenna (Jill) as well as several great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Channing. She is preceded in death by her husband Jay, her parents Frederick and Lucille, sister Sandra and brother Fritz.

Our thanks go again to members of the Fresno 5th Ward (LDS) who provided meals and many other kindnesses to Dad & Alice during this final chapter in their lives.  We also wish to thank their very dear friend Nadine, who has been there for Alice giving love, support and tender loving care nearly every day for the last 8 months.  Her friendship and compassion for Alice has meant the world to us.

We know that Alice is now at peace, being finally released from her battle with Alzheimer's disease.  She is now happily reunited with family and friends, but most especially with her sweetheart, Dad.  One fine day, we will all be joyfully reunited.
