Angela Marie
Minnitte Hill
Jun 5, 1929 — Jan 25, 2026
Fresno
Angela Marie Minnitte Hill, 96, passed away peacefully on January 25th, 2026.
Angela was born on June 5, 1929, in Spring Glen, Utah, the youngest of ten children born to Italian immigrants, Giovanni and Gelsomina Minnitte. In 1932, her family settled in Fresno, California, where Angela was raised. She attended Fresno schools and graduated from Edison High School in 1947.
After high school, Angela worked as a waitress at a small restaurant in Kerman, California, owned by her sister Jennie and brother-in-law, James Arnold. It was there that she met her future husband, Alvin Hill. Following a short courtship, they were married on July 26, 1950. The couple moved to Santa Maria for a short period of time, but eventually settled in Fresno in the mid-1950s, where they raised their two daughters, Deborah and Sandra.
While raising her family, Angela—known to many as Angie—attended night classes at Fresno State College, earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree and California Teaching Credential in 1963. Her commitment to education and lifelong learning was extraordinary. She later earned a Master of Arts Degree from the University of La Verne in 1983, followed by a Ph.D. in Educational Administration in 1986.
Angela devoted her career to education, teaching at all levels of elementary and middle school. After obtaining her administrative credential, she served as Principal/Superintendent of Herndon-Barstow Elementary School District. After unification with Central Unified School District, Angela served as Principal of Herndon-Barstow Elementary and Biola-Pershing Elementary. Later she also served as Principal of Easton-Arcola Elementary School in the Madera Unified School District.
Later in life, in addition to her educational career, Angela pursued a second career in real estate sales and property management, beginning as a real estate agent with Love Realty. In 2001, after obtaining her real estate broker's license, she opened Royal Properties, Inc. in Fresno, where she sold real estate and provided property management and notary services.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin; her parents, Giovanni and Gelsomina Minnitte; her brothers, Chris, Raymond, Ralph, Pete, and Regge Minnitte; and her sisters, Jennie Arnold, Emma Gilio, Phyllis Bilbo, and Mary Schuesler.
Angela is survived by her daughters, Sandra Smith; and Deborah Jennings and her husband Warren; her four grandchildren, Jason Nunes and his wife Michelle, Jamie Davis, Eric Jennings and his wife Ligia, and Alexis Accardo and her husband Ryan; and six great-grandchildren, Bryce Paulson, Riley Nunes, Jakeob Nunes, Jase Nunes, Garrett Accardo and Eric Jennings Jr.
Angela was the heart and soul of her family and the source of its unity. She lived a life devoted to caring for and serving others with compassion, kindness, and grace. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
A graveside service will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Fresno, California, on February 5th, 2026, at 10:00 A.M.
Remembrances may be made in her memory to Hinds LifeCare, 2490 W. Shaw #101, Fresno, CA 93711 or on-line at hindslifecare.org.
