Augustine V. Woodley was born on May 28, 1934 in Buckeye, Arizona. He passed away at the age of 90.  His late parents were Dolores and Frank Woodley.  He was the 5th of 8 children.  Augustine (also known as Gus and Teeny) was a beloved husband, father, stepfather, grandpa and great-grandpa.  He moved to California at the age of 4. Augustine is survived by his devoted wife "Adela", 7 children, 20 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 sisters. Augustine was also preceded in death by a daughter.

Augustine served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division based out of North Carolina in the 1950's for 5 years.  He was an Airborne soldier and was trained to jump out of planes with parachutes. Augustine loved sharing his experience as a paratrooper.

Augustine was a Fire Protection Businessman for over 55 years.  In the 1950's he worked in a Fire Sprinkler Union for 20 years.  In 1972 he started his own Fire Alert Protection Business.  His work included both private and government serving a radius of over 200 miles. A fire protection system is to protect a building's occupants and minimize the damage associated with a fire. He made a lot of lifelong friends along the way He also believed in a handshake and shook many hands.  Augustine was a hardworking man.  In his spare time, in the 1970's, he owned the Copacabana Bar in Fresno. In the 1980's he and Adela owned the Hot Diggity Dog and would sell hot dogs and pizza out of their trailer.
Augustine was a family man and loved his wife of 48 years together.  They were inseparable and shared the same interest!  Augustine and his wife "Adela" loved camping especially with their late Chihuahua "Mugs" and their current Schnauzer "Niko".  They started off camping in a tent, graduated to a tent trailer and upgraded their fifth wheel 3 times. Some of his favorite camping spots included Pismo Beach, Jackson Rancheria, New Brighton Beach, Casa De Fruta, Black Oak Casino, Seacliff, Morro Bay and Santa Cruz KOA. He had so many fond memories of camping with family, grandchildren and friends. Augustine loved to be in the kitchen and had a deep passion for cooking and baking.  He loved cooking for everyone.  He made the best breakfast burritos, enchiladas, Indian tacos, chicken, bbq ribs, tri tip and he made the best potato salad. He also enjoyed baking.  He made the best fresh strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting.

Despite facing recent health challenges, Augustine kept his faith strong in God.  He was a 2nd time cancer survivor and brain surgery survivor.  He always said, "I won't give up, because if I do, It would hurt a lot of people especially my loved ones."  Augustine's family would like to thank everyone for all the outpouring of love and support.
