With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear Aurora Cuenca-Bejarano, 42, on March 14, 2026 surrounded by family in Santa Clara, CA.

Born on June 15, 1983 in Fresno to Domingo and Ofelia Cuenca, Aurora was known for her compassionate spirit, unconditional love, and devotion to family.

Aurora attended Fresno City College and transferred to Fresno Pacific University where she studied and majored in Liberal Studies with plans to have a career working with children. She started her career as a childcare employee and as an ABA therapist working with children with autism. Later, she began working as a Family Support Partner and Parent Support Specialist to help women rehabilitate and offered parenting support for women in the program. In all the work she did, it was clear that Aurora led with her heart.

Beyond her career, Aurora was passionate about helping others and was devoted to her family, serving as an anchor and a safe place for so many of us who knew her. She was always the first to lend a listening ear or a caring embrace to anyone in need. Aurora’s caregiving nature expanded beyond her career. Starting in her teens and young adulthood, she was often trusted to care for her youngest siblings while they were growing up, as well as her nieces and nephews over the years. She provided a joyous and safe place for all those in her care.

She gifted the world with her creativity and she captured the art and beauty in everything around her so effortlessly. Throughout her life she found ways to express her creativity whether it was through cake decorating classes, photography classes, arts and crafts for her younger siblings and eventually children, and especially through homemade holiday decor and crafts for her children.

Aurora and Vidal’s love story began in 2008 and they spent 17 years building their family together. They bonded over a shared love of music, family values, and their playful sense of humor. They enjoyed going to concerts together, going to the movies, and taking the family on trips to the beach. Aurora was dedicated to raising the family and offering her love and support to Vidal while he pursued his educational and career goals.

Aurora loved traveling with her family to California’s coastal cities, watching the latest shows, taking her children on all kinds of adventures from the local parks, zoos, museums, aquariums, arcades, and amusement parks. Those who knew her, also knew her for her playful spirit and filling any space she was in with joy and laughter. She loved being a mom and poured all that love into creating and providing opportunities for them to adventure and learn about the world around them.

She is survived by her loving husband, Vidal (Mike) Bejarano; her children, Elianna and Michael Bejarano; her mother, Ofelia G. Cuenca and her siblings (Rocio Chavez, Diego Garcia, Raquel Alvarado, Dalia Cuenca, and Alheli Kang). She was preceded in passing by her infant son, David Bejarano; father, Domingo Cuenca Vizcarra; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Aurora will be deeply missed, but her memory and her spirit will live with us forever. We invite you to join us in remembering her at a celebration of life on May 1st, 2026.
