Bernice "Corky" Stark was born on April 14, 1933 to Theo and Wallace Warren in Lubbock, TX. She passed away on January 30, 2025 in Fresno, CA. She was 91 years old.
Corky was known for her fun-loving social personality. She was an avid bowler, collecting many trophies along the way. Corky was also a hot-shot softball player, she participated on teams well into her later years. She loved to sing and she loved to dance. She truly was the life of the party.
As Bernice, she graduated from Madera High School. She married Clyde "Peanut" Aguirre in 1951 and they had three daughters. Her first marriage ended. In 1966 she married John Stark. John passed away in 1969. Corky remained a widow for the remainder of her life. Corky lived her life on her own terms and shared her life with many friends. She never met a stranger.
Corky was preceded in death by her parents, her only sibling, Thomasine Manning and her oldest daughter, Cherie Scott of Stagecoach Nevada. She is survived by her daughters, Babette Aguirre of South Lake Tahoe and Dede J. Agrava (Tom) of Fresno. She was Nana to five grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. And she was Auntie to her nieces and nephews.
A private burial is planned.
