It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved matriarch, Bertha Gomez Rios, who left us peacefully on May 25, 2025, just one day shy of her 92nd birthday. Born on May 26, 1933, in Litchfield Park, Arizona, Bertha was a source of love, strength, and inspiration to all who knew her.

She spent her final days surrounded by her loved ones in Fresno, California, where her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. Bertha dedicated her life to her family, nurturing her loving husband of 66 years, Edward J. Rios. Together, they built a life rich in love and devotion, a testament to their unwavering partnership. Bertha is also survived by her two sons, Edward Rios Jr. and Steven Rios, along with Steven's wife, Saundra Duran Rios. Her legacy lives on through her two special grandsons, Colin and Aidan Rios, who brought her endless joy and pride. Bertha took immense pleasure in watching Colin and Aidan excel in school and cheered them on passionately as they played baseball.

Her enthusiasm for their achievements was a reflection of the deep love she had for her family. In addition to her immediate family, Bertha is survived by many relatives and close friends who will miss her dearly. She is remembered for her warmth, kindness, charm, generosity, and her deep sense of care for those around her. Bertha instilled in her family her great devotion to God and a set of values that will carry on through the generations. Her unconditional love was a safe haven and an inspiring force in their lives, nurturing a foundation of faith and compassion.

A Catholic Mass will be held in Bertha's honor to celebrate Bertha's remarkable life on June 18, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Fresno, California. We invite you to join us in celebrating Bertha's life and legacy.

While Bertha may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts. We take comfort in knowing that her legacy of love and devotion will continue to inspire us every day. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so generously gave to others.
