Carol
Miller
Dec 31, 1949 — Aug 10, 2025
Fresno
It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Miller announces her passing after a courageous battle with cancer on August 10, 2025, at the age of 75 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her warmth will remain in our hearts forever.
She was born to the late Robert and Selma Lesman on December 31, 1949, in Portland, Oregon, where she was raised. Carol graduated from Wilson High School in 1967 and worked in radio advertising while attending Portland State University.
In November 1969, Carol married Larry Miller, MD, and two years later they moved to Fresno, California, where they built a full and loving life together.
Together, Carol and Larry shared many wonderful years raising their three children. Carol took great pride in her family, and her role as "Grandma" and "Gaga" to her three grandchildren brought her immense joy.
Carol was known for her caring nature, kindness, spirited personality, and bringing people together. Her generosity of heart and zest for life touched everyone she met.
A gourmet cook, she loved preparing delicious meals that filled the house with warmth and laughter. With a glass of wine in hand and her easy smile, she made every gathering feel special and full of love. Her kitchen was not just a place for food, but a place where memories were created and cherished.
She enjoyed the camaraderie of friends over games of bridge and mahjong, which brought her both challenge and delight. Carol also loved gathering her family around the table for a lively game of Mexican Train Dominoes, which was about the laughter, gentle teasing and joy of being together. She had a playful spirit and a competitive edge that made every game memorable, representing some of the family's most cherished traditions.
Carol is survived by her three children: Greg and wife Edith Chen of Evanston, Illinois; Matthew and wife Melissa of Washington, D.C.; Julie of Oakland, California; and grandchildren, Jonah, Jake and Claire.
We, and so many people she touched, will miss her dearly. A private Celebration of Life will be held to honor her and Larry's life together at a later date.
The family requests that remembrances be made to Hinds Hospice, the California Armenian Home or the Jewish Federation of Fresno.
