Charles Glen Dodd, 78, of Fresno, CA passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2026 after a short illness. He is survived by his children Collette Dodd Barrios (Ruben) of Fresno, CA and Cheryl Mackenzie (Matthew) of Denair, CA, three grandchildren Logan Barrios, Caden and Allyson Mackenzie and two sisters Marsha Mahnke, Stockton, CA and Donna Dodd (Eric), San Francisco, CA and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Carmen Dodd, his parents Lloyd and Grace Dodd, Ripon, CA and one sister Susan Dodd, Gilroy, CA.

Charles grew up in Ripon, CA and attended local schools there. He was a star athlete in basketball and tennis during his high school years. He attended Modesto Junior College, California State University, San Francisco, and California State University, Fresno.

Charles loved being a teacher and taught 5th and 6th grades for 26 years in Fresno starting in 1985 at Hidalgo Elementary School, Muir Elementary School and Pyle Elementary School, retiring in 2011. In addition, he worked for 12 years in sales at Berven Rug Mills. He served his country with honor in Washington DC in the military police from 1971-1973.

After Charles retired from teaching, he enjoyed traveling and became a certified scuba diver and took many international trips to scuba dive. He especially enjoyed spending time with family and friends and took many wonderful trips with both.
