Charley Kotoian, born on January 1, 1939, in Selma, California, peacefully passed away on August 20, 2026, after living a long and fulfilling life. Charley was the beloved son of the late Tony and Annie Kotoian and was predeceased by his brother, Carl, and his cherished wives, Jenell and Beverly, as well as his beloved dog and companion, Buddy. 

Charley is survived by his loving children: his son, Eddie, and daughter-in-law, Tina; his daughter, Julene, and son-in-law, Travis; and his stepchildren, Rachel, Michael, and daughter-in-law, Janine, along with Yvonne. He was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and had the joy of welcoming two great-grandchildren into the world. He graduated from Selma High School and honorably served his country in the United States Army. 

Charley dedicated more than 30 years of his professional life to Sun Maid Raisins as a Quality Control Supervisor, where he was admired as a hard-working and reliable employee. His colleagues respected him for his leadership, commitment and professionalism. Charley had a zest for life, which he expressed through his love for travel, sports and the outdoors. He enjoyed motor home trips to the coast and mountains with his wife, Beverly, and their dog, Buddy. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and fishing, as well as playing cards. He was a passionate fan of the San Francisco 49ers, sharing his enthusiasm with friends and family. Known for his hospitality, Charley always made people feel welcome and appreciated good service, often showing his gratitude with a generous tip. 

Charley was married to Jenell Tiger, who preceded him in passing after two years of marriage. He later found love again with Beverly Lewis, with whom he shared more than 40 wonderful years before her passing. Despite these losses, Charley's spirit remained unyielding, finding joy and comfort in the company of his family and friends. 

A service to honor Charley’s life will be held on September 2, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Selma Cemetery, located at 2430 Floral Avenue, Selma, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Charley’s memory. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the Ruth Wood Open Arms Hospice House for the compassionate care they provided to Charley in his final days. Charley will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of kindness, humor, and hospitality will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
