David Steve Boatright of Clovis, California passed away on May 18, 2026 at the age of 79. He was born on May 11, 1947 in Los Angeles, California.

David worked many different jobs in his early years, primarily in construction. He later found his true calling when he began working as a groundskeeper at Camp Sierra. His dedication and hard work led to his promotion to Camp Manager, a position he held until his retirement after 20 years of service. David was a true "mountain man" who thrived when in the forest, and fishing. His years at Camp Sierra were among the happiest of his life.

David enjoyed listening to audiobooks, playing cards, and dominoes. He loved being in nature, spending time outdoors, and riding his motorcycle. He especially enjoyed going to the lake with his family and barbecuing.

David is survived by his son, David Glen Boatright; daughters, Kimberly Esparza, Sharon Hatter, and Holly Jean O'Daniels and her husband Dorian O'Daniels. He is also survived by his grandchildren, David Blevins, Krista Blevins, Kimmarie Esparza, Destiny Esparza, Jessica Esparza, Matthew Shrestha, Dennis Fraser, Aidan O'Daniels, and Skylar O'Daniels. As well as his three great-grandchildren Judah, Asher, and Daisy Blevins. He is also survived by his sister, Carolyn Gibson; along with a niece, nephew, extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Boatright; his mother, Marilyn Miles; his wife, Charlotte Boatright; and his brothers R.L. Peterson and Jimmy Miles.

David will be remembered for the love he showed his family and his deep appreciation for the outdoors. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 11:00am at People's Church - GL Johnson Chapel, located at 7172 N. Cedar Ave., Fresno, CA 93720.
