Diane Landresse, 76, of Fresno went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 13th, 2023.  She fought a difficult cancer battle with grace, and strength. Because of her faith in Christ she heard "Well done good and faithful servant" when she was met by Jesus.

She was born to the late Robert and Frances Heyns, September 21st, 1946 in San Francisco, California. She spent her younger years in Torrence, California until her family relocated to Hawaii. She graduated from Kaimuki High School in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1964. As a young adult Diane came to Fresno with a best friend from Hawaii eventually making Fresno her home.

Diane worked as a Savemart Bakery/Deli Manager until her retirement in 2005.  During her years at Savemart Diane attended Fresno City College and attained an associates of science degree in dietetics, graduating Phi Theta Kappa. Not long into retirement Diane decided total retirement was not for her. She decided to become a substitute special education instructional aide.  Through this meaningful work she found her career calling and enjoyed doing crafts and going on field trips with the students. She spent most of her time in this second career at Bullard High School, she loved the students and the staff she was blessed to work with.

"Mom" - was sometimes used in exasperation by her daughters as she often did not know her own limits making her a very fun Nana, auntie and friend. Mostly "Mom" was used in love and thankfulness for all she had done sacrificially for them and for their families. Her daughters will miss the daily conversations and celebratory breakfasts they regularly shared and knowing their mom would move heaven and earth to help them.

Diane loved being Nana, it was proclaimed on her personalized license plate gifted to her by her children and grandchildren. Her license plate told all those she shared the road with that Nana Rocks!  Nana's love, care and support was provided to each of her grandchildren in unique and special ways, that will forever be appreciated and remembered.

In addition to spending time with family, Diane found happiness in traveling by car and train, she saw much of the United States. Diane liked tending her succulents, collecting antique compacts, and animated cell art. Diane spent countless hours watching and attending sporting events with her boyfriend of nearly 20 years, Len Addison. She was always a fan of whatever softball team Len was coaching. They could often be found at the Clovis Farmers Market on Friday nights. She loved being his sidekick in his Model A truck in parades. Diane enjoyed time with friends near and far whether it was having a cup of coffee, making jewelry, swapping books, frequent phone calls, taking a trip down the Columbia River by steamboat, and even moving to Redmond Oregon to spend time with a life long friend. She has been accurately described as a ray of sunshine, a ray that will be missed by numerous friends and family.

Diane is survived by her children: Marcy and Dave Holtermann, Stacy and Eric Van Valkenburg; grandchildren: Lauren and Blake Holtermann, Kayla and Tim Wolfe, Tanner Keeley, Jack Van Valkenburg, and Ashley Stearns; great grandchildren: Paxton and Hadley Wolfe, and Emma Keeley; sister: Barbara Heyns, and long time boyfriend Len Addison.

Transitions Children's Services 1945 N. Helm Ave Suite 101 Fresno, CA 93727.  A local agency whose mission is to serve abused and/or neglected children who have been removed from their home.  Diane always had a heart for those in need.
Special Olympics Northern California - support.specialolympics.org . Diane loved any event the students at Bullard loved and this was a favorite event of hers and theirs.
