Obituary

Donald Max Shean, 89, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully into the arms of God on September 10, 2023.

He was born on July 22, 1934 to the late Frank (Jr.) and Florence Shean in Santa Barbara, California. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy. When he returned, he began a 25 year career with Sears & Roebuck. When he retired from Sears, he started his own appliance repair business fondly known as "The Appliance Doctor".

Don, lovingly referred to as Pops by his family, was a man of profound and deep faith in God, strong values, and he took an active role in each of our lives. He was devoted to every one of us, and his commitment to teach his children and grandchildren life skills, sharing his faith in Jesus  Christ, and simply how to be good citizens were his primary goal. His legacy will carry on forever and we would ask that you live a life of  meaningful acts of love and service, like Christ modeled for us.

He was a member of Shriners International, and a member of the Masonic Lodge. In his spare time, he loved to golf, fish, attend bible study,  travel, and spend time with his family.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Jan, along with his sons Don (Patricia), Frank (Cindy), Jeff (Cindy), and daughter Lorelei Shean. He is also forever cherished and remembered by his grandchildren Donnie Shean, Justin Shean, Lindsey (Quinn) Snowden, Michael (Victoria) Shean, Jaime (James) Keiscome, Christy (Art) Flores, Amanda (Ross) Sylvester, Nathaniel (Trinidad) Acosta, Ciara (Michael) Jaso, Jimmy Sherfield, Sara Sherfield, and 14 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sister Loy, as well as his beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Don was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Florence Shean, his daughter Pam Motley, daughter-in-law Katrina Shean, grandson Brandon Shean, his sister Sara Shean, and his best friend Randy Osborn.
