August 7, 1927- April 1st, 2024
On April 1st, 2024, at 5:30pm, our dearest mother and grandmother took her last earthly breath and joined her two beloved sons Robert Heinmiller and Chris Coffman in heaven. Willorea ("Billie" as she was called by her family) Elaine Stevens was born in Judsonia, Arkansas on August 7, 1927, to Dewey and Nettie (Fife) Stevens. She was one of seven children. She often spoke fondly about growing up on her daddy's farm and credited that to her long life. She attended Plainview school in Arkansas and High school in Chowchilla CA after her family's journey to California in the early 40's.
After her first marriage in 1945, she moved to Fresno California and welcomed two of her four children, Patricia Heinmiller, and Robert Heimiller. During her time in Fresno, she became a member of the Eastern Star organization and was a member until her passing. Through her adult life, she worked as a nurse's assistant and later for the State of California in the disability department as well as a bookkeeper for Coffman roofing. She married William D. Coffman on February 14, 1954. During her marriage to Bill, they would have two sons Chris Coffman and Gary Coffman.
Elaine had a passion for gardening knowing the names of seemingly every type of flower. She had a love of traveling, going on several cruises and lastly visiting the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC to see her son Robert's name etched on the wall. She also had a knack for square dancing.
Family was one of her greatest accomplishments. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They brought her immense joy.
Elaine was predeceased by her sons Robert Heimiller and Chris Coffman, as well as her husband Clarence Lewis.
She is survived by her son Gary Coffman, Grandson, Christopher Coffman, his wife Kelly and their daughter Kenzie Coffman. Granddaughter Christiana Borboa, her husband Brent and their children Logan, Landan, Bennett, and Brynlee Borboa. Elaine leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well many friends.
