Elnora, cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully at her home in Fresno, California. Born on March 23,1929 in Iowa and finally settling in the small central California town of Livingston where she lived with her husband George until his passing. She lived a life filled with love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.

Elnora was the beloved daughter of Jasper and Mary Cole and shared her life with her late husband, George Montero. Together, they built a life grounded in love and mutual respect. Elnora‘s journey was marked by resilience and adaptability, especially when her husband was called to serve in the US Navy. Despite the challenges of not being allowed to return to school due to her marital status, Elnora embraced her role as a devoted partner and later found her calling working at the local elementary school cafeteria. Her work brought her joy and camaraderie forging lifelong friendships with her kitchen colleagues.

A woman of many talents, Elnora was particularly passionate about gardening. She cultivated stunning landscapes at her homes in Livingston and Fresno where her gardens flourished under her expert care. Elnora was always eager to share her gardening wisdom with anyone in need of sage cultivation advice, making her a cherished resource in her community.

Elnora‘s family was her pride and joy. She leaves behind her loving sons Larry (Deborah), Roger (Kristina) and Joel (Tami) who will forever cherish her memory. Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren; Monica, Mitchell, Michael, Anthony, David, Jacob and Alex. As well as her six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, all of whom were blessed with her nurturing spirit and gentle guidance.

In honor of Elnora‘s wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated caregivers who became an integral part of Elnora‘s life in her later years.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to a charity of their choice in memory of Elnora Lorraine Montero. Her family will always remember her as a pillar of strength, wisdom and kindness and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
