Emilio Gilbert Vargas, 83, beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his place of residence in Pinedale on September 16, 2023.

He was born on April 8th, 1940 to the late Emilio and Lucy (Jacobao) Vargas in Fresno, California. After graduating from Clovis High in 1958, Emilio went on to work at Calcot Compress for over 20 years.

In his earlier years, Emilio was known as "Sonny" to close friends and family members. Later in his life, he also acquired the nickname "Coach" by the beloved Pinedale community. Emilio was extremely passionate about the Pinedale community - where he lived for a majority of his life. Emilio dedicated much of his time to playing, coaching, and watching a variety of sports. He was a loyal Pinedale, Kastner, Clovis West, and Fresno State fan.

Emilio is survived by his son Emilio, daughters Connie, Diana, and Hope, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren
