Esther (Peters) Berg was born on September 8, 1924 in Dinuba, Calfornia to Henry and Elizabeth Peters. She was the fifth of eight children. When she was in the second grade the family moved by horse and wagon to a 50 acre farm 3 miles from the town of Dinuba.

She attended Reedley Bible School for two years, now known as Immanuel High School, and graduated two years later from Dinuba High School. She loved sports and played baseball, volleyball, basketball, and also ran track. The family grew many different fruits and vegetables which fed the large family of ten. The children worked hard chopping weeds and harvesting grapes and raisins on the farm. She helped prepare meals for her large family which is where she learned to be such a great cook. Esther received Christ into her life at a revival meeting at the Reedley MB church on May 17, 1934 and was baptized in the Reedley Kings River on June 17, 1934. She loved music and played the clarinet, piano, organ, and accordian.

At church on Sunday April 21, 1946 she met John, who was on leave from the Navy; he was the brother of her friend Ruth Berg. They started dating one week later and were married December 12, 1946. Esther's aunt sewed her wedding dress out of the silk that John bought in Japan, while serving in the Navy. The attended Pacific Bible Institute for one year, now known as Fresno Pacific University. They raised three daughters, Marilyn, Carolyn, and Kathy, and one son, John. She has 8 married grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren and loved cuddling each one of them as babies.

Esther enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, including wonderful pies, zwiebach, cinnamon rolls, and chocolate chip cookies. She and John played golf and competed in a weekly bowling league with their friends. They traveled on may trips with friends and family and enjoyed 74 years of marriage.

They moved to Oakmont Senior Living in May, 2018 where she made many dear friends. She loved the Lord and would recite many bible verses throughout her  life. She passed peacefully on March 16, 2024. She will be greatly missed but we know we will see her again in our heavenly home.
