Fresno – Eugene (Gene) Ens, 90, died January 24, 2026.  He was born April 10, 1935 in Dinuba, CA, the son of Frank Ens and Caroline Gunther Ens.  Gene graduated from Immanuel High School in Reedley in 1953.  Following graduation he attended Bob Jones University and Reedley College.  In 1955 he married his high school sweetheart, Joyce Irene Schultz and they settled in Fresno.  They celebrated 69 years of marriage before her death on September 24, 2024.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his brother Jerry Ens, his brother in-law Stan Brandt, his nephew Shane Ens, his nephew-in-law Eddie Henry Jr. and his great grandson in-law Thomas Shepard.  He is survived by his sister Jane Penner, her husband Roger and his sister Carol Brandt, his son Dale Ens and wife Cathy, his son Lyle Ens and wife Marla, and his son Mike Ens and wife Lisa, along with 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 21, 2026 at Peoples Church at 11 AM with a reception to follow.

Those who wish to celebrate Gene in a special way may make gifts in his memory to Hume Lake Christian Camps or Immanuel Schools, Reedley.
