In loving memory of Gabriel Xavier Ortega age 54, of Fresno, who passed away suddenly on June 2, 2024.

He was born in San Jose, CA on November 25, 1969, and was a 1987 graduate of McLane High School. Gabriel took pride in giving back to his community, having worked in case management at Community Regional Medical Center for over 15 years.

Gabriel loved to travel, was an avid hiker & bicyclist and he successfully climbed Half Dome and biked throughout Yosemite National Park often. He enjoyed listening to music, creating his own, and attending live concerts, especially his favorite band Kraftwerk.

Gabriel is survived by his mother, Terry Garcia, stepfather Ramiro Uriarte; two brothers Dan Ortega and Henry Ortega; sister Raquel Uriarte-Ponce and daughter Marina Ortega, as well as his beloved in-laws, Tony Ponce, Jim Kisiel, Nancy Padilla, and many cousins, aunts & uncles.

He will be remembered for his ability to find humor in any situation, his passion for music, cooking, exploring nature, and his unique personality and style.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Farewell Funeral Service, 660 W Locust Ave # 101, Fresno, CA on Saturday June 22 at 11:00 AM
