Gary Michael Reyburn, 80, of Fresno, California, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at The Veterans Home of California-Fresno.  Born on May 4, 1945, in San Francisco, California, Gary was a husband, father, brother, and uncle.  Gary is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sylvia; his daughters, Debra Reyburn and Michele Reyburn; his brother, Jim (Anita); and his sisters-in-law, Barbara and Margaret (Francis); and multiple nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Avon "Red" and Dorothy Reyburn, and his sister, Pam Villette.

Gary served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  Shortly after returning from his tours in Vietnam, he met Sylvia and it was love at first sight for him, and 6 months later they were married.  In 1972 their first daughter was born, with the second daughter born in 1975.  They took many family trips over the years including to the Pacific Northwest, Newport Beach, Disneyland, and camped regularly in the Sierra Nevada mountains.  Gary and Sylvia loved each other and were committed to their marriage, and like any marriage there were trials, but they fought through them and were married 56 years on April 5th.

Gary worked as an Estimator/Project Manager for RPM Planing Mill for 25 years.  In 1997 he decided to follow the dream of living in Washington state, so he and Sylvia moved to Washington, eventually settling in Poulsbo, WA.  He continued working as an Estimator in Seattle, traveling by ferry every day, which he greatly enjoyed.  He retired from NW Millwork in 2012.

Around the time of retirement, Gary was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, which was caused by his exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam war.  In 2017, Gary and Sylvia returned to Fresno to be closer to family and with the plan for him to eventually live and receive care at The Veterans Home of California-Fresno.  Eventually, Gary developed signs of dementia and was diagnosed with Parkinson's w/dementia.  In 2021, he fell and broke his hip, and thankfully a spot had become available at The CalVet Home.

Gary lived there for the remainder of his life, with his loving and dedicated wife, Sylvia, visiting, if not daily, then multiple times during the week.  Although this was extremely hard, it also brought them closer than ever.  A blessing to her is that he never forgot her or the song "Jesus Loves Me", which he would sing with her, even on days it was difficult for him to speak.  His Christian faith was strong, and his family is overjoyed that he has returned home to his Heavenly Father.
