George Ronald Flowers Jr. was born on December 16th, 1965, in Fresno, California to Evelyn Lewis & George Flowers Sr. Ron was the oldest son of four from Evelyn and the oldest of eight from George Sr.

Ron's strength was tested early in life when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver at two years old. After undergoing major surgery at Valley Children's Hospital, he was featured in The Fresno Bee. This would be the first of many times that he was to be the center of attention as his future was filled with athletics, bodybuilding, and his service as a Fresno Police Officer.

Growing up Ron had a love for family, friends, and adventure. He began lifting weights in the 6th grade alongside his brother Rolinzo. They were 11 months apart but were stuck at the hip often mistaken for twins. Most will remember the brothers as best friends. They were protective of one another always having each other's back. When you saw one you saw the other. Ron loved martial arts watching the movies, reading the subtitles, and following Bruce Lee. He had a love for music and could be found at local clubs as he was a DJ. He had a passion for Volkswagens and attending car shows. Ron was a dedicated athlete and excelled in wrestling, football, and bodybuilding. Ron completed his formal education graduating from Fresno High School in 1984. He attended Kings River Community College where he experienced dorm life and had an opportunity to play as an outside linebacker.

On November 1st, 1986, Ron married Yasmina and to their union were added their two daughters Baliegh and Blair. He competed in bodybuilding at which time worked various jobs all surrounding security and bouncing. After his first marriage, he moved to Los Angeles where he lived with his buddy Ken" Flex" Wheeler. While living in LA he enjoyed training alongside professional bodybuilders at Golds Gym. This allowed him the opportunity to pursue his love of the sport. Ron's love for his children brought him back to Fresno where he began working at Fresno High as a campus security. Patrolling his old stomping ground felt like home. He was someone that people were drawn to, and it was important to him to be a positive role model. He was fair and just as he dealt with the students and watched the backs of those less fortunate. While working at Fresno High, he met the love of his life Brenda while reprimanding a student in her father, Dave Costello's, classroom in 1995.

Ron and Bren married on November 30, 1996. Together they raised two children, Milan and Cameron. The two enjoyed life together and spending quality time with family. Ron's family was his priority. It was important to him that they create new traditions for their kids including traveling and hosting times of fun and laughter with family and friends. He was always the life of the party and the "host with the most" as he always wanted to ensure that everyone had plenty of food and fun.

In 1996 Ron decided to stop bodybuilding and began training for the police academy. He stepped down from his job as campus assistant in 1999 after enrolling and being accepted to The Fresno City College Police Academy. As each day passed his love for what it meant to protect and serve grew stronger. Upon graduation, he was offered a job with the Fresno Police Department, and all of what he prepared for was finally coming together. In late 2003, Ron was assigned to M.A.G.I.C, Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium, as one of their African American Gang Investigators. Wearing his badge and working with his brothers and sisters in blue was his joy and passion and many lifelong friendships were created during this time.

In May of 2014, Ron's wife Bren lost her battle with breast cancer. Losing Bren broke his heart tremendously however, he was committed to carrying on her memory in the hearts and minds of the family and his kids. He continued to smile through the tears all the while he continued to excel in his career. Taking part in speaking engagements where he spoke and trained individuals about gangs and gang-related crimes. He is described by many as a gentleman, kind, loving, compassionate, protective, and a big-hearted teddy bear. But let me make it quite clear he knew when to growl.

George Ronald Flowers Jr., or as most called him Ron or Ronnie, passed from this life peacefully on January 26th, 2025, at the age of 59. He was surrounded by his loved ones, including his children, grandchildren, mother, siblings, and nieces and nephews.

Ron is preceded in death by his beloved wife Bren Costello-Flowers, Father George Ronald Flowers Sr., brother Rolinzo Flowers, brother Randy Flowers, brother Raynaldo Flowers, and father-in-law Dave Costello.

Ron leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Baliegh Flowers-Woods and wife Faye Woods, Blair Flowers, Milan Flowers, and his son Cameron Flowers. His grandchildren Gavin, Gabriella, and Zariah. His mother Evelyn Lewis. His sisters Denina Ross and Jacqueline Flowers-Orange and Husband Frank Orange. His brothers Kevin Powe and wife Audra Powe, Wesley Flowers, Nichiren Flowers and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. George Ronald Flowers Jr. son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, friend, husband, and father we miss you and love you very much.
