George Solis Patlan, dedicated husband, father, and Papa was called to Heaven on March 31st, 2024 at the age of 72 years. George was born on February 22, 1952, raised by Esperanza and Yranio Patlan in Firebaugh, California alongside his 4 sisters and 1 brother. His is survived by his oldest daughter, Angela, daughter Georgette & husband Erik Salas, grandson Tristan Diedrich & wife Savanna, granddaughter Teddi Markle & husband Jerrod and grandchildren Christian and Emanuel Salas. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Victoria "Vickie" Patlan.

George was a jack-of-all-trades, but a born salesman. His ability to connect with people was tremendous. There was nobody he couldn't talk to and no item he could not sell. He got his start selling cars and transitioned to selling farm equipment. He prided himself on learning every detail of everything he sold and established a vast network of loyal customers spanning the Central Valley, Pacific Coast, all the way down to Mexico. He was a fair and honest man, which allowed him to thrive for 30+ years in the business. Even after his official retirement, George continued to sell. He never made a sale for the commission. He did it to help people get what they needed. He just always wanted to help people.

George loved to travel up and down the valley. Once he entered retirement, he would still take calls to find and sell equipment as needed. George and Vickie would pick up sub sandwiches and hit the road to the westside so Vickie could take pictures of the farm equipment to email to customers. George wasn't the most tech savvy, but that was okay because he had Vickie. They found a place to park his beloved white Chevy pickup, eat their sandwiches, and enjoy the view together.

He was a proud member of the community of Firebaugh. He enjoyed his time as a member of the Lions Club, coached Little League baseball and travel softball teams, and always volunteered to cook tri-tips for the various fundraising events to benefit the small town. In his "free" time, he loved to listen to his extensive collection of music.

George was a proud father and grandfather. There is nothing he would not do for his daughters and grandchildren. He and Vickie attended every sporting event, academic assembly, or extracurricular activity, no matter how big or small, to support his beautiful family. He provided constant support and guidance. Despite his calm, stoic demeanor, George had a gift for delivering hilarious one-liners that were often unexpected and made everyone laugh uncontrollably. He thoroughly enjoyed making people laugh and smile, especially his family.

George and Vickie were always together. He battled his illness valiantly, but his hardest fight was determining just how to go on after the passing of his wife. He left us on Easter Sunday, surrounded by his family, peacefully and ready to be reunited with his other half. There will never be another George S. Patlan. He will be deeply missed.
