Glen Neff McGhie, Jr. was born on July 5, 1945 in Richfield, Utah and died at his home in Tollhouse, California on August 9, 2024. He and his family moved to these foothills from Southern California in 1993 and have been members of the community since.

Survived by beloved wife Colleen Barlow McGhie; son Neff McGhie and wife Carie; daughter Tera Williams and husband Scott; son Bryce McGhie and wife Nichole; 13 grandchildren: Davone McGhie, Keegan McGhie, Andi Batt, Grant Williams, Brenden McGhie, Grace Williams, Trent Williams, Nate Williams, Kyle McGhie, Lilly McGhie, Luke McGhie, Hyrum McGhie, Clara McGhie; great-grandson August Batt; sister Karen Eblen, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Before marrying his sweetheart, Glen served a two-year mission in Southwest England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was very active in his church and volunteered many hours to the congregation in his community.

After marrying, Glen served in the Vietnam War and later in life volunteered countless hours to the DAV and was President of the Veterans Home of California. One of his accomplishments that just came to fruition at the end of last year was building a monument to honor veterans who lived at the home.

His hobbies included restoring classic cars, golfing, family history work, fixing clocks and almost any furniture, making knives, embossing leather, table tennis and guns.

He was athletic and participated in many sports during his lifetime. Early on, his passion was fast-pitch softball while later his love switched to golf and watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports.

Glen's memorial service will be held Saturday, August 17th at 10am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 29711 Auberry Rd., Prather CA  93651.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
