Gregory Lynn Martin (71) of Clovis, CA returned to his heavenly home on November 14, 2024.

Greg was born at Westover Air Force Base, Chicopee, Massachusetts on January 31, 1953 to Robert Earl Martin and Ruth Mildred [Wooley] Martin, He was the youngest of their three children. Greg graduated from Highlands High School in 1971 and joined the Navy in May of 1973. Greg was stationed in Virginia, San Francisco, Guam, Pearl Harbor, the Great Lakes, Diego Garcia and San Diego. His rank was Electrician's Mate 2nd Class.

None of the assignments compared in his heart to his time in Great Lakes, Illinois where he met the love of his life and eternal companion, Debbie. The two were sealed for time and all eternity on May 23, 1978 in the Washington DC Temple. The happy couple relocated to Long Beach before Greg was honorably discharged from the Navy in May of 1979.

Greg and his wife made their home in Sacramento, California where they welcomed their 3 children. He received his Associates degree in electronics from American River College. Greg continued to do electrical & electronics work to support the family while attending night classes at McGeorge School of Law. In May of 1988 he obtained his Juris Doctorate Degree. He spent a short time working in private practice before beginning his 30 year career with the State of California. In 2001, Greg was promoted to Administrative Law Judge and moved his family to Clovis, CA. He retired in 2019 but continued work as a Retired Annuitant for another 3 years.

He was a man of faith, a family man, a loyal friend, and a hard worker.  Greg was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears & BYU college football, Louis L'Amour and John Wayne.  He will forever be remembered for his faith, love of travel, the temple, reading, yucky roast beef sandwiches, John Wayne movies, baking, politics, trivia, his famous fudge, selfless service to others, shrimp cocktail, smoking ribs, old movies, the ocean, his Hawaiian shirts, "posicles", jelly donuts, his stories, lawyer jokes and Jerry Garcia ties.

Greg is survived by his wife of 46 years, Debbie; his son Michael, wife Jessica; his daughter Melissa, husband Omar; his son Kevin, wife Hannah; his brother Bob, wife Jean; 7 grandchildren, aunts, niece, nephew & cousins. Greg was welcomed into heaven by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and his sister, Joan.

To honor Greg at his memorial service, family and friends are invited to wear Greg's favorite color which is ...  all shades of blue.
