It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Guadalupe Gaona Valdez who was a longtime resident of Selma since the early 1960's. She passed on December 05, 2024, at the age of 80 in Selma surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 26, 1944, in Matamoros, Mexico, Guadalupe was one of nine children.

Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she was passionate about sharing the gospel and spreading love, compassion, and forgiveness to all she encountered. Guadalupe is survived by eight children: Gilbert, Telbina, Conrad Jr., Emily, Lupe, Daniel, Isabel, and Edward. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lorena Valdez Gil, whose passing left her heartbroken. Guadalupe also leaves behind 73 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Guadalupe will be remembered for her strength, humility, and unwavering faith. Her legacy of love and selflessness will live on in the hearts of her family and all who knew her. She is now at peace, reunited with her daughter Lorena and her husband, Conrado Valdez Trevino.
