In Loving Memory of Irene Ida Parrino Sunrise: July 20, 1938 – Sunset: June 25, 2025
With hearts full of love and deep sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Irene Ida Parrino, who left this world on June 25, 2025, just shy of her 87th birthday. Irene was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend—a shining presence whose warmth, strength, and compassion touched every life she encountered.
Born on July 20, 1938, in Merced, California, to Ulysses and Mary Cornaggia, Irene lived a life marked by generosity, quiet courage, and a profound devotion to her family. She graduated from Chowchilla High School and continued her education at Fresno City College, formerly known as Fresno Junior College. Her commitment to learning laid the foundation for a life devoted to faith, family, and service.
After raising her children, Irene began a new chapter in her professional life, first working at Bank of America, then going on to serve with care and dedication at Chowchilla High School where she retired with care. Her warmth and work ethic left a lasting impression in every space she touched.
Whether preparing her favorite recipes, volunteering at the hospital, or trying her hand at the slots with a sparkle in her eye, Irene embraced each day with grace and sincerity. Her gentle wisdom and steady love were the foundation of her life, shaping every relationship and moment with intention and care.
A devoted Catholic, Irene prayed the rosary daily. Her unwavering faith and deep connection to God were the guiding forces in her life—values she lovingly passed down to her children and grandchildren. Her legacy of faith and love continues to inspire all who knew her.
Irene is preceded in death by her father, Ulysses Cornaggia; her mother, Mary Cornaggia; and her sister, Dolores Corniola. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Charles Parrino; her daughter Gina Parrino Lawson; her son Michael Parrino and daughter-in-law Linda Parrino; her grandsons Christopher Parrino and Vincent Parrino, along with Vincent's fiancée Kristina Perez. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love, faith, and joyful spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on July 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., in Clovis, California. All who knew and loved Irene are warmly invited to attend and honor her memory.
Private family inurnment at St. Peter's Cemetery in Fresno will immediately follow mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Catholic Charities, in remembrance of Irene's generous and faith-filled spirit.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever in our hearts.
