Jack James Delk, 86, went home on March 21, 2025, in Fresno, California.  Born on July 13, 1938, in Porterville, California, Jack lived a life marked by dedication to education and a deep love for outdoors.

Jack devoted more than 30 years of his life to teaching fourth through sixth grade students.  His career spanned several schools including Indianola School in Selma and Lincoln, Carver and Kratt in Fresno.  Through decades of service in the classroom, Jack left a lasting impact on countless
young minds, fostering curiosity and learning with patience and care.

Beyond the classroom, Jack was an avid mountain climber and outdoorsman.  The mountains were his sanctuary - a place where he found peace and adventure.  Whether scaling peaks, pulling a big rainbow trout from a creek that took five hours to get to, or simply spending time immersed in
nature hiking, Jack's passion for the outdoors was a defining part of who he was.

Jack is remembered with love by his family:  his daughter Lori Fehr and husband Ben of Fresno; grandson Matthew Fehr and wife Sonia of Fresno; great-granddaughter Laylan Fehr; grandson Christopher Fehr of Fresno; daughter Debbie Marten and husband Jeff of Visalia; granddaughter
Melissa Yandell of Visalia; great-grandchildren Georgia Yandell and Justin Yandell; granddaughter Shannon Anders and husband Ben of Visalia; great-grandchildren Danielle Andersand Thomas Anders; brother Donnie Delk and wife Wendy of Washington.

Jack was preceded in death by his son Brian Delk, father Claude Delk and mother Eva Delk.

A private memorial to honor Jack's life will be held at a later date.  Remembrances can be made to
Samaritan's Purse or the Alzheimer's Association.
