Jean Aileen Willey Barrie nee Benavidez

Jean A. Willey Barrie passed away in her sleep at home on Dec. 23, 2023 at the age of 96. She was born to Joseph and Mary Benavidez in Colorado, the second of three children.
Jean married Dennis S. Willey, and had four children. They lived in Southern California before moving with her husband and family to Fresno in 1963.
Jean suffered from severe dementia. Her granddaughter, Kara Willey did a wonderful job of taking care of her in the comfort of her home until the end. Jean's two sons, Kevin and Kurt also helped take care of her.
Jean enjoyed spending time with family, friends, dancing and traveling. She worked various positions for Fresno County over the years.
Jean is survived by her children, Dennis D Willey, (Susan Swift Willey), Karen L. Willey Fike (Donald R. Fike), Kevin Willey and Kurtis Willey, seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, her younger brother Glen Benavidez and sister-in-law, Janet Benavidez. She was preceded in death by Dennis S Willey, Eugene Barrie her second husband, her older brother Duane Benavidez, daughter-in-law, Krissy Willey and her grandson Brent Willey.
Jean was dearly loved by family and friends, and will be deeply missed by all. She was a devout Catholic and attended the Newman Center in Fresno. There will be a mass for her in the future.
