Jimmy Lee Weeks
January 1, 1937 - August 7, 2026
Jimmy Lee Weeks, age 89, on August 7, 2026 quietly entered Heavens Gate in Fresno, California. He was born January first, nineteen-thirty-seven to Herman and Olive Weeks in Tulsa Oklahoma.
Jim or Jimmy, as many knew him, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. As Jim would have it, he made sure everything was in order and his passing came just four months after beginning Home Hospice Comfort Care.
Jim will be remembered for his loving devotion to his wife of seventy-one years, Sandy and their three daughters, Beth, Carol and Beverly. He was always called, "Daddy or Dad" and to his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he was called "Pops or Papa." His love for Jesus, the United States Marine Corp, his work ethic, and sense humor were well known traits he gladly shared with others.
Jim enlisted in the USMC at the age of 17, initialing serving as a Radio Operator at 29 Palms. During his twenty years of service in the Marine Corp, Jim served as a Drill Instructor, Cryptographer and Thai linguist. He was a Viet Nam War Veteran.
Upon retirement from the Marine Corp, he worked for the Los Gatos Post Office while his daughters attended college. Jim sensed God's call on his life to full time Christian ministry and became a graduate of LIFE Bible College, in Los Angeles. Transitioning to Oakhurst, California, Jim entered ministry as the Pastor of The Living Way Foursquare Church. He was known for his leadership in Family and Marriage counseling, building a loving congregation as well as building a facility for the church. Upon retirement from The Living Way Church, he left the church debt free and a fully paid off facility.
Jim leaves behind a family who learned from him, laughed with him, and were cherished by him. Jim is survived by his loving wife, Sandy, his high school sweetheart; brothers Bill Weeks, Hutchie Weeks and sister Edna Beth Traslavina; his three daughters Beth Perry (Mark), Carol Falk (Scott), and Beverly Lustig (Tony); his grandchildren Kevin, lan, Emma (Beth), Bethany, Annie, Suzi (Carol), Ryan and Adam (Beverly); his great-grandchildren, Maile, Nanea, Maia, Wiley, Talon, Tyce, Clara, Grady, Griffin, Ethan, Zoe, David and Anna.
After a life so fully lived, Jimmy is at rest at the feet of his Heavenly Father. We will miss his laughter, singing and calling out cadence.
