John "Johnny" Gonzalez Robles, 91, of Selma, California passed away on July 10, 2023, in Clovis, CA. He was born in Morenci, Arizona on July 14, 1931. He lived at the same address with his wife and family for over sixty years.
John was a hard worker who enjoyed keeping busy using his hands. He was passionate about fixing small machines, like lawnmowers and edgers. He found joy in helping his friends and family with their home projects and in later years sitting on the backyard patio and listening to
his Ranchera music.
John is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Gloria Robles, his daughters Grace Robles and Olivia Casarez, and his sons Sam Robles, and Harold Robles. He is also survived by his son-in-law Abel Casarez and his daughters-in-law Rachel Robles, Raquel Robles, and Jenny
Castillo. John had five grandchildren, Selina Macadangdang and her husband, Lyle, Jarred Casarez, Ryan Casarez, Christina Semonious and her husband Ted, and Chelsea Robles, and two great-grandchildren, Juliet and Roman Macadangdang. John was preceded in death by his mother Guadalupe Robles, his father Geronimo Robles, and his son Richard Robles. John served in the Army during the Korean War from 1952-1953. He proudly contributed to the military efforts during his service.
After his military service, John worked as a forklift truck driver for over 30 years at West Coast Growers and Packers in Selma. Even after retiring, he continued to work in agriculture jobs. John enjoyed growing vegetables in the summer and collecting rare coins in his free time. He
also cherished playing cards with his friends.
Visitation for John will be held on August 3, 2023, from 4-7 pm. A memorial service will be held on August 4, 2023, at 9:00 am. The burial will take place immediately after the memorial service.
John will be dearly missed by his friends and family. May his memory be cherished forever.
