John Robert Serio, 80, passed away on July 10, 2023, after courageously battling a long illness.

John was born on January 20, 1943, to Hazel Irene Mize and Charles Roland Serio, in Santa Barbara, California. After graduating from high school, John joined the Marines where he attained the rank of E8 First Sergeant. John was proud of being a "Marine" and served all over the Asia. After retiring from the Marines, John joined Fowler Packing retiring again in 2010.

John's passion was license plates. He was very proud of his California license plate collection and was well regarded as an expert in the field, especially when it came to knowing and understanding current DMV regulations.

John leaves behind a loving wife of 29 years, Patricia Ann Mckiernan Serio, children Maria N. Serio, Missouri, John C. Serio, Colorado, stepchildren James L. Ireland, Oregon, Connie L. Lembke, Oregon, and 14 Grandchildren.

John was predeceased by his parents and daughter, Lisa Serio.
