Joseph Irving Carr Jr of Madera California died Saturday 2-3-24 peacefully in his home after a long illness.
Joseph is survived by his wife Sharron Carr and his 4 surviving children. Stephanie Carr of Pismo Beach, Piper Sharik of Corfu New York, husband Dana Sharik, Justin Farless of Fresno California, his wife Chow Trung, Lindsey Carr of Fresno California. His 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by 2 of his children, Dorthy Carr of Tulare California and Joseph Carr III of Fresno California.
Joseph served proudly in the U.S.Navy as an AM-E4 for 3 years where he received a National Defense Service Medal."
Joe was a "SPICEY" but kind soul that loved to laugh and was a GREAT story teller.

He was proud of his job as a dispatch supervisor of a cement plant for many years.
Joe & Sharron bread & showed dachshunds competitively and he loved doing behind the scenes organizing for field trials and shows. He was a member of the Golden Gate Dachshunds Club & a lifetime member of the Northern Dachshunds Club.
Heaven gained a special angel!

HIGH FLIGHT

Oh, I have slipped the survey bonds of Earth

Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of-wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence; hovering there…
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
Ive topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or eagle ever flew-
And while with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of god.
