Juanita Wanda Sherrod

Juanita Wanda Sherrod went home to be with the Lord on Mother’s Day, May 10, 2026. She was eighty-eight years old. Wanda was born on March 9, 1938, in Blytheville, Arkansas. Her parents were Harvy Burley Alford and Florence Evans Alford Roork.

She married Weldon “Jake” Sherrod on June 16, 1956. She had two daughters, Robin Quinlan and Shari Sherrod Martell, and her (adopted) daughter, Dava Parks. Wanda chose customer service as a career path, excelling as a Retail Sales Manager because of her outgoing personality. She came to know the Lord as her Savior in grade school, serving Him faithfully until her death.

She is survived by her daughter Robin Janine Quinlan and husband Rob Quinlan. She has six grandchildren: Steven Sherrod, Shaun Sherrod (his wife Brenda Sherrod), Matthew Sherrod (his wife, Christina Sherrod), Aimee Fife (her wife Li Fife), Robert Brooke Hodgkiss, and Devin Hodgkiss. Wanda’s great-grandchildren are Mia, Sydney, Emily, MacIntyre, Bodhi, and Finley. She is also survived by her many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, other relatives and friends. Wanda is survived by her siblings: Sam Roork (his wife Betty) and Albert Roork (his wife Anita). She is also survived by her sisters: Phyllis, Burleta, Jackie, and Reta.

Wanda is preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Billy Ray Alford and Myreda Jo Smith; and Jo’s surviving husband Ron Smith.

Viewing will be May 27, 2026, at Farewell Funeral Service from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Graveside burial on May 28, 2026, at 10:00 am. Celebration of life will be held at New Hope Community Church on May 28, 2026, at 11:30 am.
