Julie
Urrea
Jun 23, 1954 — Nov 28, 2023
Fresno
Julie Urrea, a music and sports lover, terrific friend and beloved daughter, sister, aunt and cousin died at St. Agnes Medical Center on November 28, 2023 of complications from diabetes.
Born in 1954 in Fresno, California, the daughter of Carlos and Celia Urrea, Julie graduated from Fresno High School in 1972, Reedley College in 1975 and attended California State University, Fresno.
Julie began her career with the Mervyn's Corporation in the mid 70's, transferring to the bay area in the early 80's and retired from the company in 2003 with a successful career as a sales associate and manager. Upon returning to Fresno, Julie was employed at her sister's appraisal business, helping manage the office until suffering a stroke in 2021.
Julie had an infectious personality which always positively impacted those she encountered. She loved to laugh, loved good conversation and was a great listener and friend. Being a die-hard, life- long Los Angeles Dodger fan, Julie followed her boys in blue religiously and loved to banter with any nearby Giants fan. She also loved classic rock, old movies and tv shows and was a terrific ballroom dancer.
Julie is pre-deceased by her father, Carlos Urrea. She is survived by her mother Celia Urrea, her sister Marissa Urrea, her brothers Carlos Urrea, Jr., and Frank Urrea, her nephew Nick Urrea, her great niece, Mila Urrea, many cousins and her beloved cat of 18 years, "Kitty".
Julie will be remembered by her family and friends for her kindness, razor sharp wit and beautiful spirit. The world is not as fun and a lesser place without her in it.
