Karen Kay Brewington passed on May 1, 2025, in Fresno, CA, at the age of 85. Karen was born June 29, 1939 to the late Mary (Leuenberger) and Ralph LaRue in Lima, OH. She lived and worked on her family farm before becoming a nurse and joining the US Air Force where she met her husband, Glen. Karen and Glen had two boys, Michael and David, whom she adored. She continued her career as a nurse, retiring from St. Agnes Hospital in the late 1990s, marking over 40 years of professional nursing experience, and kept her nursing license active through in order to volunteer. Karen loved living in the countryside, riding her tractor to keep the weeds down, her many animals, word search puzzles, a surf and turf dinner, a cold Pepsi, and laughing at her boys and their antics.
Karen is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Kenneth LaRue; husband, Glen Brewington; sisters, Jeanne LaRue and Sandy Bridges; Glen's siblings; nephews, James Salmu and Tony Bridges; and grandson, Elijah Brewington. She is survived by her two sons Michael Brewington (Shannon) and David Brewington (Kate Sweeney); step-children, Dan Brewington (Carol), Kathy Houser (Doug), and Gail Henderson (Dan); grandson, David Brewington; great grandchildren, Wolfgang and Nevaeh; sister, Joan Dibble; and many nieces and nephews.
