Kathryn L. Udall Critchfield was born Kathryn O'Neal on August 18, 1939, in Santa Paula, CA. She was the only child of Herbert and Genieva O'Neal. Kathy grew up in Santa Paula and attended Santa Paula High School graduating in 1957.
On August 15, 1959 Kathy married Doug Udall and their 30 year marriage was blessed with 2 children, a daughter - Kim Waltman and her husband Steve live in Clovis and a son, Todd Udall and his wife Sherri also reside in Clovis. Kathy's children blessed her with 4 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Four years after Doug passed away, Kathy married Jim Critchfield. Jim and Doug both worked for P.G.&E. and were friends. Kathy enjoyed 21 fun-filled and adventurous years with Jim before his death in 2014. Kathy had said on multiple occasions that she had been blessed to share her life with 2 good men!
Kathy worked for 28+ years in the Clovis Unified School District as a school secretary. She worked at Weldon, Pinedale and Lincoln Elementary Schools and retired June 30, 1995.
In 2008 Kathy and Jim became involved at New Hope Community Church. She volunteered in New Hope's Senior ministry, decorating for Christmas and special events and assisting in the office. She was an active participant in a Small group for 15+ years. Her presence and influence will be missed.
God granted Kathy's desire to depart this world peacefully. Sometime on September 27, 2025, while sitting in her Laz-y-boy chair enjoying a good book, Kathy died. She left behind many who loved her so much and entered heaven to where Jesus loves her best.
A Memorial Celebration honoring Kathy's life will be held at New Hope Community Church, 4620 E. Nees, Clovis, CA at 11am with a reception immediately following. The church is located between Clovis Ave. and Sunnyside Ave.
