Lois Fahrney, aged 98, of Fresno, California, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025. Born in Madera, California, to Ernest and Alice Wattenbarger, Lois attended Madera High School before enrolling at Fresno State College, where she was a member of Delta Kappa sorority. It was there she met her future husband, Don Fahrney, with whom she shared a devoted partnership spanning nearly eight decades. Lois passed away just one day before their 76th wedding anniversary, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion admired by their family.

Lois began her career as a teacher before dedicating herself full-time to raising her family. She was active in her community as a Cub Scout den mother and as President of the Selma Guild for Valley Children's Hospital. Together with her husband, she helped build a thriving family business while creating a warm and welcoming home. Lois had a lifelong love of travel and adventure, enjoying ski trips, European journeys, a memorable cruise from Vancouver to Alaska, and even attending Super Bowls. She treasured her many years of travel with dear friends Gerald and Marian Forrest.

Known for her impeccable style and grace, Lois was always elegantly dressed and carried herself with beauty and dignity. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who delighted in caring for her family. The family extends their gratitude to the caregivers from A-Plus In Home Care, Emmy, Maria G., Martha, and Savannah, as well as nurse Carla and Chaplain Dave from Bristol Hospice, for their loving care and support.

Lois is survived by her husband, Don Fahrney; her sons Jerry (Patty) Fahrney and Don (Rachelle) Fahrney; her brother, Bill (Anna) Wattenbarger; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Alice Wattenbarger, and her sister, Barbara Wattenbarger Nelms.
