Louise Elydie Camille Tomassian

April 1, 1930-October 7, 2025

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, Louise E. Tomassian  (nee Morelli), passed away at age 95 on October 7, 2025, to be in Paradise with the Lord and our Savior, her beloved husband and parents and all the loved ones who had earlier passed away. She was born to Attilio (Marcel) Tosca Morelli and Marie-Helene Morelli on April 1, 1930, in Marseille, France.

She was a young girl during WW2. She experienced all the hardships and the deprivations of war and the brutal German occupation. Her early childhood experiences gave her the strength and determination for the rest of her life. Her grandparents were Italian immigrants from Tuscany. She grew up in an Italian immigrant community speaking French and Italian fluently. She met our Dad, Gerard (Joe) Tomassian at work in her early 20's and they became engaged. She nursed Dad  to recovery from a serious illness when hope was dim. Her love, dedication and loyalty to him so touched him that they soon married and had their first son Serge in Marseille and thereafter their second son Gerald after emigrating to the US.

They bravely immigrated to a new country, not speaking the language, with little resources and with great uncertainty of what laid ahead for them. But they brought with them a strong work ethic, devotion and the willingness to sacrifice for their family and each other, and a commitment that honesty, hard work and a faith that in this land of opportunity anything was possible. In France, she worked for the Operations Manager at a company serving as his executive secretary and stenographer. She obtained an HS. diploma in the US and then attended and received a degree at Fresno City College. She worked in various capacities for the Fresno Unified School District; her work ethic and determination were unsurpassed.

Children, both family, friends and at school were always the focus of her loving care and attention. Her passion and loyalty to her family and friends were unmatched. She mastered 4 languages English, French, Italian, Armenian and if you include Spanish communicating with her aides and caretakers that's 5. She stated repeatedly toward the end that she was ready to meet the Lord and to see again our Dad and our family members who predeceased her. Her faith over the years grew tremendously and it gave her much comfort. They faithfully attended and served for many years at the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church in Fresno. Her impact on our lives and everyone she met was tremendous with total dedication, unquestioned loyalty and sincere love coupled with resilience, sacrifice and passion. She was a beloved Mom and Meme to so many in the US, France, and Italy.

She leaves behind her loving family, Son Serge and Daughter in law Mona, Son Gerald and Daughter in law Lynette♰, who sadly passed away earlier this year, her grandchildren Brendan (Rachel), Alec, Paris (Mark), Blaise, and Tessa and her two great grandchildren James and Parker, who she was able enjoy and love.  The staff at Oakmont of Fresno and their loyal hard work along with the residents  where she resided the last few years, showed their love, care, respect and affection for her, which we deeply appreciate.
