She was born on February 1, 1955, in Encarnación de Díaz, Jalisco, Mexico. In 1976, she moved to Fresno, CA, where she enjoyed life on the ranch and raised her family with endless love.
Maria was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who found her greatest joy in caring for her loved ones. She shared 49 years of marriage with her husband, José De Jesús Romo, and together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished traditions.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Juan Meza and Ramona Jimenez, as well as her brothers Francisco and José Guadalupe and her sister Teresa.
Maria leaves behind her beloved children: Verónica Vasquez (spouse: Hector), Jorge Romo (spouse: Marisela), José Romo (spouse: Elizabeth), Juan Romo (partner: Ashley), Virginia Romo, and Victor Romo (spouse: Annika). She was also a proud grandmother to Natalie Vasquez (22), Jorge Romo Jr. (19), Vanessa Romo (19), Serena Romo (18), Savannah Romo (18), Brooke Brown (17), Javier Romo (14), Noah Vasquez (13), Sofía Romo (12), Stella Romo (6), Maya Romo (6), Oliver Romo (4), and Pakal Romo (4).
Maria was known for her unwavering love and dedication to her family. She poured her heart into making a home filled with warmth, love, and care. She had a passion for cooking that brought comfort, joy, and togetherness, and she ensured no one left her home hungry.
As a mother, she was endlessly patient, supportive, and selfless, always putting the needs of her family first. She cherished time spent with family, singing karaoke, and expressing her thoughts through poetry and heartfelt letters. She will be remembered for her boundless kindness, deep empathy, and unwavering love for those around her.

Nació el 1 de febrero de 1955 en Encarnación de Díaz, Jalisco, México. En 1976, se mudó a Fresno, California, donde disfrutó de la vida en el rancho y crió a su familia con un amor infinito.
