Marian Elinor Browe was born to Eugene Browe and Gladys Bishop on a farm near Selma, California, on May 9, 1923. Attended Selma schools, graduating in the Selma High Class of 1940. Went on to attend Fresno State and later UC Berkeley, where she graduated with a master's in library science. She was a reference librarian at the Fresno County Library, records manager at Valley Nitrogen Producers, the children's librarian for Madera County, hired gun for other branches in the valley and volunteer at the library at Windham. She was a librarian - Marian the Librarian - and she loved her job and she was good at it but that wasn't all she was.

She was a mother to four children and a friend to many. When she made a friend it was usually for life. She had an all-encompassing compassion for everyone and everything. She drew astonishing sketches of trees and landscapes, wrote beautiful letters in perfect penmanship and loved beyond words. She was there for everyone and turned no one away. She was also a top notch tennis player and a great dancer.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Dorothy Moranda, Lola Owensby, Norma Bohl and Kathryn Berry; ex-husbands Harry Allison and Saul Aparicio; and grandson Patrick. She is survived by her brother Marion Browe; children Craig (Susan Shipley), Claire, Brian (Kathryn) and Nona; grandchildren Haley, Jessica, Rebecca, Jennifer, and Andre Sabala; great-grandchildren Ingrid and Alice Spencer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She left us with this: "I can't pretend to have any answers about religion but I know with my whole being that there is one indisputable fact - love is forever."

A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Animal Rescue of Fresno or the charity of your choice.
