Michael Raymond Fox was the first of the three boys born to Clint and Ann Fox, arriving
on September 26, 1939. By 1945, two younger brothers had been born and the family
had permanently settled in Half Moon Bay, a coastal town with a more agrarian vibe
than Mike's birthplace of Santa Cruz and a better place for his father's business renting
and operating tractors and heavy earth-moving equipment.

While not actually farmers, the three boys had farm childhoods, often operating
dangerous equipment at too young an age. Mike was a bit of a baseball star at Half
Moon Bay High — this, at least, according to Jim, who likely presented no competition
but wasn't easily awed. He enlisted in the Navy and served in the period between the
Korea and Vietnam conflicts. He met Fern Oliver on a blind date and soon after they
chose to marry at the same Catholic church in Reno, Nevada where his parents had
married 31 years before. Mirroring his parents again, they moved around the state as a
young family — Mike was in the building climate controls business and he needed to be
where cities were growing. Eventually they found their way to Fresno, which was a
really wise move in that it grew from about 165,000 in 1970 to 545,000 today and, as
anyone who has been there can attest, Fresno is in need of the best HVAC systems the
world can offer. Mike and Fern had three kids: Michael, Kevin and Shannon. Mike was
a devout parishioner of their church. He was an usher, involved in the Men's Club, and
was part of the building committee which helped to build its new location.

Michael was preceded in death by his brothers Bob and Jim, and is survived in life by
his wife Fern of 57 years, their 3 children Michael Jr., Shannon, and Kevin and 7
grandchildren.
