Nichole "Nikki" Lyanne
Nugent
Dec 3, 1969 — Jul 2, 2026
Fresno
Nichole "Nikki" Lyanne Nugent, 56, of Fresno, California, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 3, 1969, in Antioch, California, Nikki possessed a natural athletic ability that made excellence seem effortless. Whether on the field or the track, she approached every sport with determination and grace. During her junior year of high school, she set her school's record in the 110-meter hurdles - a remarkable achievement that stood for more than two decades.
While Nikki's athletic accomplishments were impressive, they were far surpassed by the impact she had on those who knew and loved her. She brought boundless energy, joy, and spontaneity wherever she went and had a gift for creating memorable moments with family and friends. She was often the one bringing people together, planning adventures, and making life's ordinary days feel extraordinary. She simply adored her family.
On August 6, 2011, much to his great joy, Nikki accepted Devin’s marriage proposal beginning the next chapter of their life. Together, they built a beautiful family, welcoming three newborn babies through adoption over the next two years. Becoming a mother was one of Nikki's greatest joys. She embraced her role as a stay-at-home mom with unwavering love and devotion, finding immense happiness in raising Kinsley, Presley, and Ryker. Her children were the center of her world, and she poured her heart into giving them a home filled with love, laughter, and endless encouragement.
Nikki is survived by her devoted husband, Devin; her daughters, Kinsley and Presley; her son, Ryker; her parents, Evelyn Shelton and Fredrick Hunziker Sr.; and her brother, Fred Hunziker. She was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Gilster.
A celebration of Nikki's life will be held on July 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at People's Church (G.L. Johnson Chapel), with a reception immediately following.
Many have asked how they can support the family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to help support the future of Kinsley, Presley, and Ryker. Contributions may be made through the family's GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/115032e8e.
