Obituary

Norberto Ruiz (86), of Fresno, California, passed away on January 20, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children.

‍Norberto, was born to Romana and Aureliano Ruiz, on June 6, 1936 in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. He was a talented athlete who loved playing soccer and played for a professional soccer team in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora. Norberto moved to Los Angeles, California in 1966 where he obtained a Certificate in Radio Electronics. After obtaining his Certificate he worked for Lloyds Electronics. In 1973, he took his family back to Mexico where he opened 2 businesses: radio electronics and taxi cabs.

In 1987, he moved back to Fresno, California where he worked for Pelco Electronics. He enjoyed spending his free time with his wife and 7 children. He loved fishing, chess, classical music, and singing in Spanish, English, and Opera, Carreras, Pavarotti, Domingo, etc. During his younger years he loved to go fishing and had a passion for classical music, he would even pretend to be a conductor while Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Bisset, etc. were playing. He was a wonderful Father and was always there for his wife and children. He taught his sons to play soccer, which was his passion. He was a fan of the Chivas Soccer Team as well as the Mexico and USA National Teams, he would never miss a match and was fond of attending them in person with his children. He was always sharing life stories, singing, and cracking jokes.

Norberto was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. He enjoyed all his roles but he mostly enjoyed the role as a father. He loved nothing more than spending time with his adult children. He was always there for them. He was a GREAT FATHER, always responsible and hard-working.

Norberto was predeceased by his parents, Romana and Aureliano, his sister, Gloria, and brothers Antonio and Abel.

Norberto is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rebeca and 7 children, and their spouses, Carmen (Romy) and her husband, Kelly, Norberto (Beto) and his wife, Joann, Ricardo (Richar) and his wife Carmen, Alonzo (Allo) and his wife Brisceida, Eduardo (Baby) and his wife, Rosa, Paris (Parisito) and his wife, Joanna, and Rebeca (Rebe) and her husband, Richard.

Norberto, fondly known as Tito, is survived by his 25 grandchildren, Jorel, Jarette, Sebastian, Jessica, Maricela, Sabrina, Samantha, Alejandra, Nancy, Ricardo, Christian, Mia, Alonzo, Brianna, Luis Miguel, Alexander, Eduardo, Karina, Viviana, Paris, Troy, Max, Nicole, King, and Kendra. He also is survived by his 7 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Malachi, Ariana, Byron, Cameron, Scarlet, and Sofia. He loved them all and would not miss an opportunity to see them.

Norberto will be greatly missed. He was very much loved. May he rest in peace.
