In Loving Memory of Norman Avedian
September 16, 1931 – September 27, 2025

Norman Avedian was born on September 16, 1931, in Los Angeles, California, to Arnie and Nectar Avedian. He entered into his eternal rest on Saturday, September 27, 2025.

In his early years, the family moved to his grandfather's ranch, where Norman's younger brother, Richard, was born on February 27, 1938. Together, they grew up surrounded by a hardworking and loving family and a close-knit circle of friends. Norman attended Calwa Elementary School, Fowler High School, and later Fresno State University.

On November 25, 1967, Norman married the love of his life, Rose Marie Missakian. They shared 42 wonderful years together and were truly inseparable. Their deep love for one another was the foundation of their life, along with their devotion to family and friends. Together, they cherished traveling, exploring new places, and sharing many memorable trips and cruises.

Norman will be fondly remembered as a dedicated Industrial Arts teacher at Clovis High School and Clark Intermediate School, where he was always ready with a warm smile, steady support, and helpful guidance for his students.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose; his parents, Arnie and Nectar Avedian; and his brothers-in-law, Harold Missakian and Arsen Missakian.

Norman is survived by his brother Richard Avedian and his wife Carole; his sister-in-law Annie Missakian; nephews Jonathan Avedian and his wife Jennifer, Michael Missakian and his wife Diyana, Eric Missakian, Harold Jr. Missakian and his wife Rita, and Ryan Missakian; niece Heather Bain and her husband Kenny; great-nieces LuAnn Missakian and Elizabeth Ferris and her husband Patrick; and great-nephews Jacob Avedian, Elijah Avedian, Zackary Cuesta, Mason Missakian, Myles Missakian, and Micah Missakian.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at First Armenian Presbyterian Church, 430 South First Street, Fresno, California. Interment will follow at Ararat Cemetery in Fresno.
