Patrick James Meyers, 68, was tragically taken from us on Friday, September 18, 2026. He was born on December 30, 1957, in Fresno, California, where he was raised and lived his entire life.
Patrick attended Hoover High School, graduating in 1976, and went on to earn his Associate of Science in Engineering from Fresno City College. As a youth, he was deeply involved in Boy Scouts and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 1972, becoming one of the youngest Scouts in California to achieve that honor at the time — an early sign of the discipline and dedication that would define the rest of his life.
In 1979, Patrick was introduced to Raean by her mother, Charlie, a coworker of his at Mayfair Hardware. The two were married in 1985 and went on to share 41 years together, celebrating their anniversary just weeks before his passing.
Patrick built a distinguished career as an engineer, spending over 25 years at Netafim Irrigation — a career he was immensely proud of and one that left an irreplaceable legacy in his field. Outside of work, he remained deeply committed to Scouting throughout his life, later serving as a troop Scoutmaster where he mentored countless young people, drawing on the same values instilled in him decades earlier as a young Eagle Scout. He was also an avid shooting sports enthusiast, always eager to share his knowledge with anyone willing to learn.
Above all, Patrick was devoted to his family. He is survived by his wife, Raean; his son, AJ, and daughter-in-law, Robin, and their daughter, Remy; his daughter, Tylre, and her children, Zach and Zeppelin; his brother, Michael; sisters-in-law Kaye and Fabiola; mother-in-law, Charlie; nephews Jonathan, Eduardo, Tristan, and Liam; and niece, Katarina.
He was preceded in death by his father, John; his mother, Frances; and his eldest brother, Richard.
Patrick will be remembered as a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather, a dedicated mentor, and an engineer whose work and character left a lasting mark on all who knew him.
A rosary will be held at 6:00 PM on October 20, 2026, at Farewell Funeral Home in Fresno. A funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 AM on October 21, 2026, at Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Fresno.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Sequoia Council's Friends of Scouting Fund, part of Scouting America, in honor of Patrick's lifelong dedication to Scouting.
