Obituary

Philip Gregory DeRouchey was born December 15, 1957 in Fresno, CA. The family moved to Clovis in 1959 where Phil remained his entire life. His battle with esophageal cancer ended on May 22, 2026. 

Born to Robert Anthony and Zita Mae (Miller) DeRouchey, he was the youngest of four boys. He completed his grade school education through Our Lady of Perpetual Help School and graduated from Clovis High School in 1976. Phil started working as a mason soon after graduating high school. He started to learn the trade that would become his lifelong work with Stanley Gruver, Gruver Masonry. He worked with and for others including Jess Walker and Dave Pinner. Upon obtaining his masonry contractor license he founded DeRouchey Masonry. He will be remembered by the phrase “A good job for good people!". 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Kristi (Knight). He is survived by his three brothers, Louis (Amanda), Craig (Anita), James (Cindy), and many friends; Of special note are the circle who were with him on his cancer journey - Hylon Kaufmann, Derren Fanning, Greg and Kim Sassano, John Catalano, Sharleen Cross, and Andy and Nancy Anderson. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with date and location yet to be determined.
