Soto
Nov 19, 1945 — Jan 14, 2024
Selma
Raul Ramos Soto, age 78, of Selma, California, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, January 14, 2024. Raul was blessed to have been a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, son and brother. He was born to parents Eusebio Soto and Petra Ramos on November 19, 1945 in Matamoros, Mexico.
Raul is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Theodora Soto; his mother Petra Ramos Soto; his brothers Luis Soto and Cruz Soto; and his sister Enriqueta Valdez. He is survived by his loving children, daughter Zulema "Zully" Soto; sons Raul A. Soto and Israel Rene Soto; seven grandchildren, Vanessa, George, Alex, Jasmin, Lucinda, Sophia and Margaret; four great-grandchildren, Eliseo, Luke, Eneko and Lennon; and many beloved family and friends.
In his early years, Raul's mother moved the family from Brownsville, TX to California, settling in Selma, where they found work as farm laborers. After marrying his wife in 1967 and starting a family, he went on to find employment at SunMaid Raisins in Kingsburg, CA. He worked for the company, as a machine operator, and retired in the year 2000 after twenty-seven years of service. Raul persevered in taking care of and providing for his family, and he loved spending time with them. He enjoyed being outdoors tending to the lawn, trees and flowers he had planted, but he especially loved family camping trips and barbeque parties with family and friends.
Raul's greatest achievements in life were his undying love for his wife and dedication to her and their marriage, and loving and nurturing his children and grandchildren.
