Rick passed away unexpectedly on August 29, 2024.   He was born and raised in Fresno, CA where he graduated from Fresno High School in 1976.

Rick was self-employed for over 35 years as the owner of West Slope Classic Fly Tackle. His passion for fly fishing was ignited with a cane rod, the Kings River, and the mentoring of Rick's paternal grandfather, Chet Sorensen.

Most of all, Rick enjoyed spending time with his wonderful family and dear friends, fly fishing, listening to great music, playing his drums, and cooking anything Italian. He was passionate about music and was an outstanding musician who played the drums at the early age of 10 then later played in several Rock and Roll bands.  Rick inspired the love of music in both of his children.

His father, Douglas Sorensen, preceded him in death, along with his precious daughter, Madison. Rick is survived by his beloved son, Ryan; loving mother, Virginia; sisters, Kristie and Shelley; brother-in-law, Larry; several nieces and many cousins.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
